Sonam Kapoor reveals why she prefers slow fashion

The actress Sonam Kapoor, who is renowned for her impeccable sense of style and wardrobe selections, recently discussed her preference for slow fashion. In a statement, Sonam said, “I make sure to wear things and do things that don’t negatively affect anyone.” I try to make ethical decisions. I’ve always supported slow fashion, reusing vintage clothing, and investing in timeless, exquisite pieces. Fast fashion is wasteful and bad for the environment, so I oppose it. But I can see why it’s necessary for people who can’t afford high-end vintage clothing.”

“Even though it is not ingrained in our culture, I am a strong supporter of second-hand websites,” she continued. Local tailors and artisans are highly valued in Indian culture; this is a type of slow fashion that is not easily accessible in the West. Both of these things are necessary in combination: granting Westerners access to tailoring and embracing the idea of dressing like someone else.” Sonam wants to use her platform as the top fashion advocate in India to spread the word about ethical fashion.

“As actors, we make an impression, and people like to follow what we do,” the speaker stated. I hope more people embrace vintage style and make it their way of life. It is essential because the planet and the environment are being harmed by our wasteful practices.” Regarding her acting career, Sonam most recently starred in the Shome Makhija-directed movie “Blind,” which also featured notable performances by Purab Kohli, Vinay Pathak, and Lillete Dubey. Sonam made her acting comeback with the movie following a maternity leave. Vayu was born in August 2022 to Sonam. Sonam has also committed to two new projects, one of which is called “Battle for Bittora.” Right now, the other project’s specifics are being kept under wraps.
