January 22, 2025: The fourth installment in the Sonic the Hedgehog movie franchise, titled “Sonic the Hedgehog 4”, is set to release in theaters on March 19, 2027. This announcement comes shortly after the massive success of “Sonic the Hedgehog 3”, which became the highest-grossing film in the franchise, amassing over 422 million dollars globally at the box office.
The Sonic franchise has also crossed a significant milestone, surpassing 1 billion dollars in box office earnings to date, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The third movie introduced Keanu Reeves as the voice of Shadow the Hedgehog, further boosting its appeal and commercial success.
While plot details, the writer, and the director for Sonic 4 are still under wraps, Jeff Fowler, who directed the first three Sonic films, is expected to return, continuing his work from previous installments.
