Sonu Nigam has been a strong voice in the music business for a long time, and he has never been afraid to speak out about remakes. What is his main idea? If you do them with respect for the people who made them, they’re not bad at all. This notion has taken on a personal meaning for him since his famous 1999 pop single “Bijuria” has been reworked for the new movie “Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.”
Sonu talked about the new version and said, “Remakes, if done with respect and regard to the original creators, are not a bad thing at all.” He said that some remakes might ruin a song, while others, like this one, bring back old songs and make those who grew up with them feel nostalgic.
A Blast from the Past
Sonu has a specific connection to the resurgence of Bijuria. The original song was on his non-film album Mausam and was made as a pop song, not a Bollywood song. He said, “It’s really amazing that a song I wrote 26 years ago is now being used in a movie.”
The first song video, which had Sonu as a ghost, was a huge hit with kids, even Varun Dhawan when he was little. Sonu thinks that this early connection is what makes the song so important to Varun now. The musician and the actor both had the idea to bring the song back around the same time, which is how it ended up in the movie.
Sonu Nigam, who sung the original song, and Asees Kaur, who sings the new female section, worked together to make the new version. Tanishk Bagchi, a well-known composer, has reworked it. The original was written by Ravi Pawar, with lyrics by Sonu Nigam and Ajay Jhingran.
The Timeless Magic of a Team
Sonu warmly remembers the recording sessions for the first album, which had to be done quickly because his sister was getting married. He says that the album’s success and lasting popularity was due to the team’s willingness to work together, which included legends like Shivamani and Rupert Fernandes. He thinks that the close camaraderie that formed while they were making the music is what made it so popular and what keeps people loving the songs today.
