February 8, 2025: Mumbai: Actor Sonu Sood has responded to recent media reports alleging that a court in Ludhiana issued an arrest warrant against him in connection with a fraud case. Taking to social media, the Fateh actor called the news “highly sensationalised” and clarified that the matter is being exaggerated beyond context.
Addressing the issue, Sonu tweeted, “We need to clarify that the news circulating on social media platforms is highly sensationalized. To put matters straight, we were summoned as a witness by the Honourable Court in a matter pertaining to a third party to which we have no association or affiliation.”

The actor further stated, “Our lawyers have responded, and on 10th February 2025, we will give a statement clarifying our non-involvement in the matter. We are neither brand ambassadors nor associated with the case in any way. This is just unnecessary media attention to grab eyeballs. It’s sad that celebrities become soft targets. We will take strict action in this matter.”
Court Details
The clarification followed reports of Ludhiana judicial magistrate Ramanpreet Kaur issuing an arrest warrant against Sonu Sood after his failure to attend court proceedings as a witness in the case. The order stated, “Sonu Sood has been duly served with summons or warrants but has failed to attend or deliberately absconds. You are hereby ordered to arrest and bring the said Sonu Sood before the Court.”
