Hollywood star praises Indian cinema and expresses desire to do a Bollywood film
January 6, 2026: Actor Sophie Turner has revealed her admiration for Indian cinema, naming Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone as her favourite stars. Speaking to Firstpost, Sophie called Shah Rukh Khan the GOAT and praised Deepika for her screen presence. She also shared her love for SS Rajamouli’s RRR, calling it an unforgettable cinematic experience.
Expressing her interest in Bollywood, Sophie said she would love to be part of a Hindi film, especially for the music and dance. She described Bollywood as a grand spectacle with stunning production design unlike anything seen on Western film sets. Though she has not acted in an Indian film yet, Sophie had visited India in 2018 during Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ wedding celebrations in Jodhpur.
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone will next be seen together in King, directed by Siddharth Anand, while Deepika is also set to star in Atlee’s AA22xA6 with Allu Arjun. Sophie will next appear in Prime Video’s heist thriller series Steal, which premieres on January 21.
