Splitsvilla contestant says viral party photos sparked unnecessary dating speculation

March 11, 2026: Photos of Malaika Arora partying with Sorab Bedi, a contestant from MTV Splitsvilla X6, recently went viral on social media, sparking rumours that the two might be dating. However, Bedi has dismissed the speculation, clarifying that they share only a friendship. In an interview, he said he met Malaika through mutual friends and that their bond developed naturally within the same social circle.

Bedi explained that during his early modelling days, Delnaz Daruwala and Vahbiz Mehta gave him an opportunity to walk the ramp, after which he often attended gatherings with them. Since Malaika is also close to the duo, the two eventually became friends. “There is nothing between us,” Bedi said, stressing that the rumours about a romantic relationship were unfounded.

The speculation began after Bedi attended a party at Malaika’s restaurant Sweeney Bombay and shared photos and videos from the evening. One image showed the two posing together, while another clip captured them dancing at the event. Bedi later said people should be more careful before making assumptions about someone’s personal life, adding that he has attended parties with Malaika and their friends for many years.
