‘Squid Game’ Season 3 Breaks Netflix Record With 60.1 Million Views in Just 3 Days

The final season of the Korean survival drama surges into Netflix’s Top 10, becoming one of the streamer’s most-watched non-English shows ever

“Squid Game” Season 3 is making history once again. The highly anticipated final chapter of Netflix’s global phenomenon drew 60.1 million views in just its first three days, setting a new record for the streamer, according to its official weekly Netflix Top 10 list.

Premiering last Friday, the third and final season of the dystopian Korean thriller has now secured its place as Netflix’s ninth most-watched non-English TV series of all time, based on total views accumulated over its early debut period.

Despite having one less day of streaming data available than its predecessor, Season 3’s performance rivals the explosive launch of Season 2, which debuted with 68 million views in its first four days after dropping on December 26. That Season 2 milestone at the time overtook Wednesday, which had previously held the record with 50.1 million views in its debut week.

📝 Note: Netflix’s Top 10 metrics run from Monday to Sunday. That means Season 2, which dropped on a Thursday, benefited from four full days in its opening data window, while Season 3 had just three — making its current numbers even more impressive.

Following its premiere weekend, Squid Game Season 2 quickly climbed Netflix’s all-time chart of most popular non-English language shows, landing at No. 7. With Season 3 now entering the race with strong momentum, it’s expected to continue its ascent over the coming weeks.

A Deadly Game Nears Its End

Season 3 of Squid Game continues the story of protagonist Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae), who re-enters the life-threatening competition — not just to survive, but to expose and dismantle the game from within. Facing off against the enigmatic Front Man (Lee Byung-hun), Gi-hun fights to uncover the system’s dark truths and reclaim humanity’s dignity in a world driven by greed and spectacle.

The final season is packed with high-stakes tension, moral dilemmas, and the same disturbing thrills that captivated audiences in Seasons 1 and 2, while offering deeper explorations of its key characters and themes of systemic exploitation.

‘Squid Game’: A Streaming Juggernaut

Originally released in 2021, Squid Game quickly became a cultural juggernaut, smashing Netflix records and igniting a global fan base. The Korean series not only dominated viewership numbers but also influenced fashion, gaming, and social commentary on wealth inequality and societal collapse.

With Season 3 now in full swing, it’s clear the series is closing out its story with the same unstoppable momentum it launched with — and fans around the world are watching closely to see how it all ends.
