The trailer sets a grim, emotional tone, featuring a powerful voiceover by Player 149 (Kang Ae-shim), who comforts Player 456 with words that highlight the show’s haunting moral themes: “Bad people do bad things, but they blame others and go on to live in peace. Good people beat themselves up about the smallest things.”
In a dramatic declaration, Player 456 says, “I’m trying to put an end to it,” suggesting that this season will conclude with a high-stakes showdown against the sinister Frontman.
Set to premiere on June 27, Squid Game Season 3 centers on Gi-hun’s final mission to dismantle the deadly competition and seek justice for the lives lost. Revenge, betrayal, and redemption promise to take center stage in this much-awaited finale.
The original Squid Game (2021) was a global phenomenon, racking up 1.65 billion viewing hours in its first 28 days. Season 2, which debuted on December 26, 2024, became an instant hit — topping Netflix’s Global Top 10 list with 68 million views in its first week and dominating charts in 92 countries.
Lee Jung-jae made history by becoming the first Asian actor to win the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role in Squid Game, while director Hwang Dong-hyuk earned a historic Emmy win for Outstanding Directing.
Now, with Season 3 on the horizon, fans are eager to see how the story ends — and whether Player 456 can finally break the cycle of violence.
