May 7, 2025: Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan made a historic and stylish debut at the 2025 Met Gala, becoming the first Indian male actor to walk the celebrated steps of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Dressed in an all-black custom ensemble by renowned designer Sabyasachi, SRK captivated the fashion world with a look that blended elegance, symbolism, and a dash of royal flair.

SRK’s minimalist black outfit was elevated by opulent accessories, most notably a dramatic set of layered chokers and pearl strands, flowing through his open shirt. The centerpiece was a striking oversized diamond pendant in the shape of a ‘K’. Rings stacked across his fingers and a Bengal Tiger Head cane crafted in 18k gold, adorned with tourmalines, sapphires, and diamonds, added a signature flourish to the ensemble.

Shah Rukh’s Met Gala appearance drew widespread praise, with fans and celebrities alike celebrating his global fashion milestone. Among the many tributes, Amul India offered a charming and witty take with their signature topical doodle. The cartoon depicted a butter-loving caricature of SRK, clad in his Met Gala outfit and holding his now-iconic tiger cane in one hand and a buttered slice of bread in the other. The caption playfully read, “India’s biggest GalaKaar!”

On his Met Gala experience, SRK admitted feeling both nervous and excited. “I’ve not done many red carpets, I’m very shy,” he revealed, crediting Sabyasachi for persuading him to attend. He also shared that his children were thrilled about his participation in the globally-watched fashion event.

Designer Sabyasachi also reflected on the collaboration, calling SRK a “magician, superstar, and icon,” and describing his look as an embodiment of the “Black Dandy” aesthetic—refined, regal, and globally resonant.

Joining SRK at this year’s Met Gala were fellow Indian celebrities Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani, both of whom also made their debut appearances at fashion’s biggest night.
