May 2, 2025: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan stole the spotlight at the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025 with his signature wit and warmth, revealing that no matter how serious he tries to be, his kids just can’t stop laughing—at him.

During a candid session titled The Journey: From Outsider to Ruler, SRK opened up about his family life, especially his relationship with his children—Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam. Known for his quick humor, Khan had the audience in splits as he shared that his attempts at parenting are often met with giggles rather than obedience.

“You know, you’re often asked if it’s lonely at the top,” Khan said. “I would just like to tell everyone here, those who are young and have kids, even those who are my age and have kids: you will never be lonely if you can make your children laugh. And for those who don’t have children, if you can make your parents laugh, you will never be lonely.”

Continuing with a grin, he added, “Main itna funny hoon mere bacchon ke liye (My kids think I’m so funny), that even when I scold or try to discipline them… I also scolded Deepika while shooting Om Shanti Om! When I say something like, ‘Listen, you have to sleep by 10 o’clock,’ they go, ‘Oh my god, SRK!’ So, I’m a joke in my house.”

Khan’s honest and humorous take on fatherhood resonated with the audience, many of whom connected with the universal experience of not being taken seriously by one’s children.

WAVES 2025, held under the theme “Connecting Creators, Connecting Countries”, is a landmark four-day summit aiming to establish India as a global center for media, entertainment, and digital innovation. The event, which began on May 1 and runs until May 4, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who hailed it as a “historic milestone” in India’s cultural evolution.

From laughter in the living room to global leadership in entertainment, Shah Rukh Khan once again proved why he remains the heart of Bollywood—not just as a performer, but as a relatable father and an enduring storyteller.
