Superstar checks on veteran writer’s health at Lilavati
February 22, 2026: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan visited veteran screenwriter Salim Khan at Lilavati Hospital late at night after he was admitted on February 17. SRK arrived in his Rolls-Royce to inquire about Khan’s health, with videos of his visit circulating widely online. In a past interview, Shah Rukh had credited Salim Khan for supporting him during his early struggling days in Mumbai, saying he became who he is because of the Khan family’s encouragement. He began his acting journey on television before making his Bollywood debut with the 1992 film Deewana.
Salim Khan was hospitalised after suffering a minor brain haemorrhage. Doctors confirmed that surgery was not required, but a Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) procedure was performed. He was placed in the ICU on ventilator support as a precautionary measure due to high blood pressure. According to hospital authorities, his condition is stable and he is recovering slowly considering his age.
Meanwhile, the family has requested privacy regarding further medical updates. Reports suggest that Salman Khan and family members were displeased with public health statements issued by the hospital and have asked authorities not to release additional details. Sources stated that while there is immense public interest in Salim Khan’s well-being, the family wants to avoid speculation and maintain confidentiality.
