May 09, 2025: Celebrated filmmaker SS Rajamouli, known globally for his blockbuster RRR, has voiced strong support for the Indian Armed Forces amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, Rajamouli saluted the bravery and commitment of Indian soldiers who are safeguarding the nation from terrorist threats and escalating hostilities along the border.
“Saluting our brave Indian Armed Forces for their unwavering courage in protecting our nation from terrorism. Let’s stand together as a nation, inspired by their valor, to build a future of peace and unity. Jai Hind!” he wrote in a heartfelt tweet.
In a follow-up message, Rajamouli urged citizens to act responsibly and avoid actions that could jeopardize national security.
“If you see any movement of the Indian Army, don’t take pictures or videos. Don’t share them, as you might be helping the enemy. Stop forwarding unverified news or claims. You’ll only create noise, which the enemy wants. Stay calm, alert, and positive. Victory is ours.”
His comments come in the wake of Operation Sindoor, a large-scale Indian military response to the deadly Pahalgam terror attack. As part of the operation, India destroyed nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
During the night of May 8-9, Pakistan launched multiple drone and munition-based attacks along the Western Border and the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian Army repelled the attacks and responded forcefully to numerous ceasefire violations (CFVs).
“The drone attacks were effectively repulsed, and a befitting reply was given to the CFVs,” the Indian Army said in a statement, reiterating its commitment to protecting sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Officials also highlighted the role of the Akash surface-to-air missile system, an indigenously developed air defence weapon, in neutralizing drone threats. The Indian Army and Air Force have now deployed the system extensively along the Pakistan border.
