Stalker Who Crashed Into Jennifer Aniston’s Home Deemed Unfit for Trial

May 31, 2025: In a significant development in the Jennifer Aniston stalking case, the accused, Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, has been declared mentally unfit to stand trial. The Los Angeles County mental health court made the ruling after a second psychiatric evaluation confirmed Carwyle’s incompetence to face charges of felony vandalism and stalking.

Judge Maria Cavalluzzi stated, “The court finds the defendant is not currently competent to stand trial. Criminal proceedings will remain suspended.” This marks the third hearing for Carwyle, who continues to plead not guilty. His earlier court appearances included wearing a suicide-prevention smock, but at the most recent hearing, he was seen in a standard yellow county jail uniform.

Carwyle, a resident of New Albany, Mississippi, allegedly crashed his car into the gates of Jennifer Aniston’s Los Angeles home earlier this month. The incident caused significant damage, and the actress was reportedly inside the property at the time. Security managed to stop Carwyle in the driveway before police arrived.

In addition to the physical breach, Aniston’s legal team has stated that Carwyle had been sending the actress voicemails, emails, and social media messages for over two years. A court-issued restraining order is currently in place, barring Carwyle from any form of contact with the actress.

With proceedings paused, Carwyle is expected to begin a treatment regimen that includes medication, while more detailed mental health evaluations are underway to determine his future care and placement. A follow-up hearing is scheduled for June 26, during which Aniston or her representatives are expected to present further testimony.

Jennifer Aniston, widely recognized for her role as Rachel Green on Friends, has not publicly commented on the case. The situation continues to raise concerns about the safety and privacy of public figures, especially amid persistent stalking incidents.

Stay tuned for more updates on the case.
