Steven Soderbergh’s Spy Thriller ‘Black Bag’ Set for March 2025 Release

Steven Soderbergh’s highly anticipated spy drama, Black Bag, is scheduled for release on March 14, 2025. Focus Features confirmed the date, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

The film, directed by Soderbergh—renowned for Sex, Lies, and Videotape—features a screenplay by David Koepp and a star-studded cast led by Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender. Joining them are Rege-Jean Page, Marisa Abela, Naomie Harris, Tom Burke, and Pierce Brosnan, adding depth and intrigue to the espionage thriller.

Produced by Casey Silver and Greg Jacobs, Black Bag promises a gripping narrative of espionage and suspense. This film marks a significant collaboration for Soderbergh, who is known for his diverse filmography including heist thrillers and profound dramas.

In addition to Black Bag, Soderbergh’s supernatural project Presence, also written by Koepp, will be released under Neon. With fourteen Academy Award nominations and five wins, Soderbergh’s films include Erin Brockovich, Gray’s Anatomy, and the Ocean’s trilogy.

Focus Features is also preparing for a busy slate at The Toronto International Film Festival with notable titles like the Vatican-set political thriller Conclave and the animated biographical film Piece by Piece about Pharrell Williams.
