‘Stitches’ : Angelina Jolie Teams Up With Alice Winocour’s For High-Fashion Drama Film

November 20, 2024: Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie is set to star in Stitches, a high-fashion drama directed by Alice Winocour, with production confirmed to begin in Paris. While specific plot details are being kept under wraps, the film will delve into the glamorous yet competitive world of high fashion, with the story unfolding primarily in the French capital.

Stitches will be shot in both French and English, continuing the bilingual approach seen in Winocour’s previous project Proxima, which was praised for its exploration of an astronaut’s struggles with balancing professional ambitions and motherhood. The film marks another collaboration between Winocour and Pathe Films, after the success of Paris Memories, which earned actress Virginie Efira a César Award.

Jolie’s casting in Stitches follows her highly anticipated biographical film Maria, in which she portrays the legendary opera singer Maria Callas. Directed by Pablo Larrain, Maria is being produced by Fremantle, Apartment, and Netflix. Jolie has also been working on her directorial projects, including Without Blood, a Western-inspired drama that premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The film, starring Salma Hayek and Demian Bichir, tells the story of a woman seeking justice after her family is brutally murdered.

Although the plot of Stitches remains tightly under wraps, it is expected to explore the glamorous, high-stakes world of fashion, with Paris providing the perfect backdrop. The film is produced by Charles Gillibert’s CG Cinema, and with Jolie leading the cast, Stitches is anticipated to feature a star-studded ensemble.

Jolie’s involvement in these diverse projects, ranging from acting to directing, underscores her continued versatility and strong presence in both Hollywood and international cinema.
