“Stop Taking Selfies!” — Karan Johar’s Kids Hilariously Roast His Pout And Fashion Sense!

Karan Johar’s Kids Roast Him on His Birthday: “Stop Taking Selfies!”

May 29, 2025: Filmmaker Karan Johar celebrated his 53rd birthday on May 25, but it wasn’t his star-studded Instagram wishes that grabbed attention—it was his hilarious birthday exchange with his twins, Yash and Roohi. Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Karan shared a lighthearted video in which he jokingly confronted his children about not giving him any birthday gifts. What followed was a mix of adorable honesty and savage trolling—courtesy of his own kids.

In the video, Karan tells them, “It was my birthday and I got nothing from the both of you!” Roohi quickly redeemed herself by holding up a colored paper flower, saying, “I got you this!” to which Karan replied, “Oh yes, you made it so lovely, thank you Roohi!”

Yash, however, declared his gift to be hugs and kisses. But when Karan asked what he could expect from them next year, Yash didn’t hold back: “I think you need new clothes and a new wardrobe!” Roohi chimed in, “We think you should stop taking selfies.” And just when it couldn’t get any sassier, Yash imitated Karan’s signature selfie pout and said, “First, stop doing that face!”

A visibly shocked Karan could only respond with his trademark sign-off: “Toodles!” In the caption, he wrote: “Can you believe the in house trolls??????”

Celebs like Rasha Thadani, Aditi Rao Hydari, Mini Mathur, and Anaita Shroff Adajania filled the comment section with laughing emojis, thoroughly enjoying the wholesome roast.

On the work front, Karan recently made an appearance at the Cannes Film Festival for the world premiere of his co-production Homebound, directed by Neeraj Ghaywan. The film, starring Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa, and Janhvi Kapoor, received a 9-minute standing ovation in the Un Certain Regard section.

Karan became a father to Yash and Roohi via surrogacy in February 2017, naming his son after his late father Yash Johar and his daughter Roohi, an anagram of his mother Hiroo’s name.
