January 3, 2025: Following the massive success of Stree 2, the makers have confirmed that the much-awaited third installment of the Stree franchise is set to hit theaters in 2027. Directed by Amar Kaushik, who also helmed Stree 2, Stree 3 is slated for release on August 13, 2027, and will continue the thrilling and humorous journey of the supernatural horror-comedy. The massive success of Stree 2 (which faced tough competition from Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa at the box office) was a significant milestone for the genre. Director Amar Kaushik, speaking about Stree 3 and the possibility of Akshay Kumar’s return, mentioned that while Stree 2 took six years to make, Stree 3 would not take as long. “It will take at least three years,” he said. He also addressed Akshay Kumar’s cameo in Stree 2, saying that whether he returns for the next film depends on the script. “If the story demands, he will be a part of it.
