‘Succession’ wins Emmy award for Outstanding Drama Series

“Succession” won an additional Emmy for Outstanding Dramatic Series. The Television Academy announced the news on X, formerly Twitter, writing, “@Succession(@HBO/@streamonmax), congratulations on winning the #Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series! #Emmys #75thEmmys.”

The award presentation is presently being place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The Hollywood strike caused the 75th Emmys, which were originally slated for September 2023, to be rescheduled. Additionally, “Succession” wins its sixth Emmy for Best Dramatic Series. In the category, the program outperformed shows like “House of the Dragon” and “Better Caul Saul.” ‘Succession’ took home the Emmys earlier today for Outstanding Lead Actor for Succession in a Dramatic Series, Outstanding Lead Actress, Outstanding Directing for Dramatic Series, Outstanding Writing for Dramatic Series, and Outstanding Supporting Actor in Dramatic Series.

“Succession,” “The Last of Us,” and “The White Lotus” are this year’s top three nominees. With 27 nominations overall, “Succession” is the most nominated show this year. Sarah Snook is the main actress, while Brian Cox, Kieran Culkin, and Jeremy Strong are the record three lead actors. Other nominations include best drama. “The White Lotus” (now a drama series after a limited run last year) received 23 nominations for its second season, behind “The Last of Us,” the first video game adaptation to garner significant Emmy attention, which received 24 nominations. ‘Succession’s’ last season received 27 nominations in all, including a record-breaking three nominations for outstanding actor in a drama.
