Directed by Cole Webley in his feature debut and co-written with Robert Machoian (The Killing of Two Lovers), Omaha tells the poignant story of a grieving widower, played by John Magaro (Past Lives), who embarks on a cross-country road trip with his children after a family tragedy. As the miles pass, his daughter begins to sense a deeper unease beneath the surface. Rising stars Molly Belle Wright and Wyatt Solis portray the children, with Talia Balsam in a key supporting role.

The film, which competed in the U.S. Dramatic Competition at Sundance, drew widespread praise for its authentic storytelling and emotional depth. Variety noted the film’s “intimate scope and monumental emotion,” applauding Webley’s naturalistic direction and the film’s spontaneous realism.

Greenwich Entertainment has already secured North American distribution rights in partnership with UTA Independent Film Group, with a theatrical release planned later this year.

“We fell in love with Omaha at Sundance,” said Cercamon CEO Sébastien Chesneau. “Cole Webley’s voice is distinct and powerful. His debut has a universal emotional resonance, and we’re confident it will connect with international audiences.”

Webley expressed his gratitude for the reception, stating, “Having Omaha embraced at Sundance was a dream. Partnering with Cercamon to take this story to global audiences is incredibly meaningful for our team.”

Producer Preston Lee echoed the sentiment, adding, “It’s crucial for us that Omaha’s powerful narrative reaches viewers around the world. Cercamon’s passion and commitment make them the perfect partner.”

As Omaha heads to Cannes, it carries the momentum of Sundance acclaim and a compelling story of grief, healing, and familial connection, primed to resonate with audiences across borders.
