Suniel Shetty Gets Emotional Over Ahaan’s Struggles
Actor opens up on son Ahaan Shetty’s tough phase after Tadap, thanks Border 2 makers for faith
January 13, 2026: Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty turned emotional at the song launch of Border 2 as he spoke candidly about the difficult phase his son Ahaan Shetty faced after his debut film Tadap. From a father’s perspective, Suniel revealed that there was a brief lull after Ahaan’s first release, a period that tested the patience and resilience of the entire family. He stressed that contrary to popular belief, being a star kid does not guarantee an easy journey in the film industry.
Reflecting on the emotional turmoil, Suniel shared that watching Ahaan navigate professional uncertainty was deeply challenging. He emphasised that Ahaan went through a lot behind the scenes, despite assumptions that opportunities would come easily due to his lineage. The actor said the phase became a learning experience, reinforcing values of perseverance, humility and working wholeheartedly through adversity.
Expressing heartfelt gratitude, Suniel thanked producers Nidhi Dutta and JP Dutta for casting Ahaan in Border 2 at a crucial point in his career. Calling the opportunity “a big thing” from a father’s point of view, he said he felt indebted to the makers for believing in his son. Border 2, which also stars Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan, is slated to release on January 23 this year.
