Suniel Shetty Issues Strong Warning To Those Targeting Son Ahan Shetty

In a heartfelt yet fierce response to the challenges his son has faced, Suniel Shetty has issued a stern warning to anyone targeting Ahan Shetty with “negative PR” or personal attacks.

While Ahan gears up for the release of his massive war epic Border 2 on January 23, 2026, the veteran actor opened up about the emotional toll the last two years have taken on his son following the box-office failure of his debut film, Tadap.

“I Will Take You On”: The Warning

Suniel Shetty, known for his “old-school Shetty” values, made it clear that while he respects professional criticism, he will not tolerate orchestrated negativity.

  • The Message: Speaking to ETimes, Suniel said, “I will not let go. I will take you on the way you want me to take you on, because I am clean and honest and also fearless.”
  • The Cause: The actor revealed that he discovered “negative PR” was being paid for to plant articles against Ahan, claiming he had a massive 10-person entourage and was difficult to work with. Suniel attributed this to rivals who wanted their films to succeed over Border 2.
  • The Promise: He threatened to hold a press conference to publicly “expose” everyone involved if the personal trolling continued.

A Father’s Vulnerability

The “Anna” of Bollywood recently went viral for breaking down in tears during the launch of the Border 2 song “Jaate Hue Lamhon” in Mumbai.

  • The Trigger: Suniel explained that the moment Ahan placed a hand on his back during the event, he felt the weight of his son’s “tough two years.”
  • Addressing Privilege: He challenged the notion that star kids have it easy, stating: “Everyone thinks Suniel Shetty’s son gets work easily. But Ahan went through a lot of turmoil. There was a long silence after Tadap.”+1
  • The Reunion: Suniel expressed deep gratitude to JP Dutta and Nidhi Dutta for casting Ahan in the sequel to the film that defined his own career in 1997.

Defending the Border 2 Family

Suniel has also extended his protective shield to Ahan’s co-star, Varun Dhawan, who was recently trolled for his “smiling” expressions in the song “Ghar Kab Aaoge”.

“Has anybody seen the film? No. Varun is playing a decorated officer who gives his life for the country. It is very easy to trash someone and run them down, but he is going to kill it in the film.”
