Sunita Ahuja Defends Nepo-Kids Before Son Yashvardhan’s Bollywood Debut: “It’s Not Easy Carrying That Legacy”

Mumbai | April 7, 2025 — With Govinda’s son Yashvardhan Ahuja set to step into the limelight, his mother Sunita Ahuja has spoken out about the intense pressure star kids face in the film industry. In a candid chat with Times Now, Sunita defended star children from the harsh scrutiny they receive and shared her hopes and prayers for her son’s future.

“I’ve Asked Mata Rani to Keep Him Protected”

Sunita acknowledged the weight of expectations on Yashvardhan’s shoulders. “It’s not easy carrying that legacy. People have expectations. But Yash is carving his own path and taking it one step at a time,” she said.

The proud mother also shared that she’s praying daily for his success. “I have been praying to Mata Rani that Yash shall receive a lot of yash (fame), and that he will make a mark for himself in the world… May he always be grounded and loved,” she said emotionally.

Yashvardhan’s Debut Film & Industry Experience

Yashvardhan, already a familiar face to some netizens thanks to his viral dance clip with Raveena Tandon’s daughter Rasha Thadani, will soon be seen in a romantic drama directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sai Rajesh (of Colour Photo and Baby fame).

The yet-to-be-titled film is backed by heavyweights like Madhu Mantena, Allu Aravind, and SKN Films, and will also feature Babil Khan, son of the late Irrfan Khan, in a pivotal role. The film is slated for a 2025 release.

Interestingly, Yashvardhan’s journey hasn’t been a cakewalk. Before landing his debut, he spent nearly nine years auditioning and also worked as an assistant on films like Dishoom, Baaghi, and Salman Khan’s upcoming Kick 2.

From Legacy to Launch

While the conversation around nepotism remains active in Bollywood, Sunita’s words shed light on the emotional side of being a “star kid” — the legacy can be both a blessing and a burden.

Fans and film insiders are watching closely as another generation of Bollywood prepares to take the stage. Whether Yashvardhan can match the legacy of his iconic father Govinda remains to be seen — but with the right support and hard-earned experience behind him, he’s ready to make his mark.
