‘Superboys of Malegaon’ Trailer Released

Filmmaker Reema Kagti is set to release a heartwarming film titled ‘Superboys of Malegaon’, produced under Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby Productions.

The movie, featuring Adarsh Gourav, Vineet Kumar Singh, and Shashank Arora in lead roles, highlights the spirit of friendship, creativity, and perseverance in the small town of Malegaon, Maharashtra. The story is inspired by real-life events of Nasir Sheikh, who, along with a group of passionate filmmakers from the town, creates low-budget films driven by their love for cinema.

The film’s trailer, unveiled on Friday, showcases the powerful narrative of how these “superboys” overcome financial and technical challenges to bring their filmmaking dreams to life. Malegaon, known for producing spoof films of Bollywood blockbusters, serves as the backdrop for this inspiring tale.

The film celebrates the creativity and determination of amateur filmmakers in Malegaon.‘Superboys of Malegaon’ will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on September 13, followed by a showcase at the BFI London Film Festival on October 10. The movie is slated for a January 2025 theatrical release, with a later streaming launch on Prime Video.
