‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’: David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham Join The Cast

January 18, 2025: The upcoming Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow film has added two exciting new cast members to its growing ensemble.

David Krumholtz, known for his role in Oppenheimer, and British actress Emily Beecham have joined the cast, as confirmed by DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn on social media.

Directed by Craig Gillespie, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is based on the Eisner-nominated comic series by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. The film promises to bring a fresh, cosmic perspective to Supergirl’s character, offering a more character-driven exploration rather than the traditional good vs. evil storyline.

The movie will focus on Kara Zor-El (Supergirl), played by House of the Dragon star Milly Alcock, as she embarks on an adventure across various alien worlds alongside Ruthye (played by Eve Ridley), a young alien girl seeking revenge against Krem (played by Matthias Schoenaerts), the man who killed her father. Jason Momoa will also appear in a cameo as the alien bounty hunter Lobo.

David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham have been cast as Supergirl’s parents in this highly anticipated project. Filming for the movie has already begun at DC’s UK production hub in Leavesden, with production expected to continue through the winter months.

This film marks one of the first major projects under the new leadership of James Gunn and Peter Safran at DC Studios, and it is expected to be an important piece in the expanding DC Universe. Alcock’s Supergirl will also make her debut in Gunn’s upcoming Superman movie, further linking these films in the shared DC continuity.
