Suriya 46 Officially Launched with Pooja Ceremony in Hyderabad; Shoot to Begin by End of May
May 19, 2025 : Tamil superstar Suriya’s next big-screen venture, tentatively titled ‘Suriya 46’, has officially gone on floors with a traditional pooja ceremony held in Hyderabad.
The film is being directed by Venky Atluri and produced by Sithara Entertainments. The production house announced the launch on their official X (formerly Twitter) handle, writing:
“The most anticipated #Suriya46 has been officially launched with a grand pooja ceremony! @Suriya_offl x #VenkyAtluri unite to create magic on screen! Thank you #Trivikram garu for gracing and marking the beginning of this journey with the first clap. Shoot begins at the end of May! Catch it in theaters Summer 2026!”
G.V. Prakash Kumar is on board as the music composer, while Mamitha Baiju plays the female lead. Raveena Tandon and Radhika Sarathkumar will also feature in key roles.
The film marks Suriya’s first collaboration with Atluri and Sithara Entertainments. Back in April, during promotions for his film ‘Retro’, Suriya confirmed this upcoming project.
“With blessings from Allu Arvind garu, I am joining hands with Sithara Entertainments’ Vamsi garu and my dear brother Venky Atluri. This will be my next Tamil film, and I’ll be spending a lot of time here in beautiful Hyderabad,” Suriya shared during a press meet.
‘Retro’, released on May 1, was directed by Karthik Subbaraj and featured Pooja Hegde alongside Suriya. The actor was also recently seen in ‘Kanguva’, an epic action film directed by Siva, which transported viewers to a storyline set 1,500 years in the past.
‘Suriya 46’ is scheduled to hit theatres in Summer 2026.
