Suriya Unveils New Poster for Retro on Makar Sankranti
Mumbai, January 15: Superstar Suriya celebrated Makar Sankranti with his fans by unveiling a brand-new poster of his upcoming movie Retro.
The poster, shared on his Instagram account, features Suriya leading a group of men on what appears to be a thrilling mission. Sporting a denim-and-patterned-shirt combo, Suriya rocks a rugged retro look that has his fans buzzing with excitement.
In the caption accompanying the poster, Suriya wrote, "Happy Makar Sankranti," sharing festive cheer with his followers. Fans flooded the comments section with enthusiasm, with one writing, "Happpyyy Pongal annaa," and another saying, "Too much excited for Retro."
Earlier, on New Year’s Day, Suriya had shared a first look from the film, captioning it, "Happy 2025! Lots of love, lots of light, and lots of happiness! #retro."
The film, which promises an emotional and action-packed storyline, also stars Pooja Hegde, Jayaram, Joju George, Karunakaran, Nassar, and Prakash Raj. Shriya Saran will make a special cameo in the movie.
On Christmas, the makers released the teaser, which begins in the scenic ghats of Varanasi. It highlights a heartfelt moment where Pooja Hegde’s character ties a sacred thread on Suriya's wrist as he pledges to leave behind his violent past to embrace love.
Directed by a team of celebrated filmmakers, Retro is set to hit theaters on May 1, 2025.
Suriya was last seen in Kanguva, an epic drama directed by Siva, exploring a story spanning 1,500 years into the past. Pooja Hegde, meanwhile, will also appear in Deva, releasing on January 31, starring opposite Shahid Kapoor.
In Deva, Shahid portrays a rebellious cop navigating a high-stakes investigation, while Pooja plays a journalist. The film is helmed by acclaimed Malayalam filmmaker Rosshan Andrrews and produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur.
Fans are eagerly awaiting Retro, which promises a nostalgic yet thrilling cinematic experience!
