Sydney Sweeney Teases ‘Worse Than Ever’ Cassie in ‘Euphoria’ Season 3

The Emmy-nominated star hints at an even more unhinged arc for Cassie Howard in the long-awaited third season of HBO’s hit teen drama.

It looks like Sydney Sweeney’s Cassie Howard is about to take “unhinged” to a whole new level.

Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the two-time Emmy nominee offered a tantalizing tease about Season 3 of Euphoria, HBO’s explosive teen drama created by Sam Levinson. While careful not to give away plot spoilers, Sweeney hinted that Cassie will only spiral further.

“Cassie is crazy,” Sweeney said with a smile. When Fallon asked if she’s still “crazy,” the actress doubled down: “Oh, she’s even worse.”

Fallon also brought up a recently leaked on-set image showing Sweeney in a wedding dress, fueling rumors that Cassie might be walking down the aisle. Playing coy, Sweeney joked, “I can’t confirm or deny. … Who knows, that could be AI.”

Fans last saw Cassie in Season 2 entangled in one of the show’s most volatile storylines — a secret relationship with best friend Maddy’s ex-boyfriend Nate (Jacob Elordi), which led to an iconic onstage brawl during her sister Lexi’s (Maude Apatow) autobiographical play. The finale ended with Cassie’s life and friendships in ruins, setting the stage for even deeper emotional chaos.

Nearly three years since that finale aired, Euphoria finally began production on Season 3 this February, following delays and speculation about the show’s future. Despite the hiatus, Sweeney’s star has only risen, with major roles in critically acclaimed and commercially successful projects including Reality, Anyone But You, Madame Web, and Echo Valley, which releases on Apple TV+ on June 13.
