Singer Halsey recently opened up about her health struggles, revealing that she was diagnosed with T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder on her 28th birthday. Halsey shared how this life-changing news impacted her both personally and professionally.

Reflecting on the moment she received the diagnosis, she explained, “I had a baby and I was on my tour, and it was my 28th birthday when I got the confirmation of my T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder diagnosis.” The diagnosis came during a time when she had been enjoying her family life, which left her questioning her artistic inspiration as she worked on her album, ‘The Great Impersonator’. She said, “I have my perfect little family with my baby and my partner. What am I going to write about? I have nothing to write about.”

Halsey, who is known for channeling her emotions into her music, felt mentally disturbed after the diagnosis, which heavily influenced her creative process. The health issues, along with the doctor’s warnings that her career could interfere with her recovery, were particularly difficult. She recalled doctors telling her, “If you want this to go away, quit your job.”

As she navigated her health challenges, Halsey delved into a more philosophical mindset while creating her album. She pondered, “If I spawned in any other decade, or any other parallel universe, does it always go this way? Do I always end up Halsey? If I end up Halsey, do I always end up sick?” This reflective thought process deeply shaped the themes in her work during this period.
