T-Series Faces Plagiarism Allegations Over ‘Raanjhan’ Song

An international music producer, KMKZ, has accused T-Series and the composers of the song “Raanjhan” of using his beat without approval or credit. In an Instagram video, he revealed that the song, with over 290 million streams, was made without his permission.

August 27, 2025: The popular song “Raanjhan,” from the Kriti Sanon and Kajol-starrer film Do Patti, has become the center of a new controversy after an international music producer accused T-Series and composer duo Sachet-Parampara of plagiarism. The music artist, who goes by the name KMKZ, alleges that his beats were used in the song without his approval or credit.

On Tuesday, KMKZ took to Instagram to share a video detailing the alleged incident. He explained that a fan informed him that his piano beat, which he had posted on YouTube two years ago, was used in a hit song in India. “I produced the number one song in India and I didn’t even know about it,” he said in the video.

Upon hearing the song, KMKZ claimed he was shocked to find it had amassed over 290 million streams on Spotify and was a “number one song on Indian Billboard.” He stated that he attempted to contact T-Series and the artists via email but received “zero response.”

The producer expressed his frustration, saying, “They pretty much just ripped the beat off of YouTube and didn’t contact me or pay me or credit me or anything. And now they have a number one song on Indian Billboard.”

In a post accompanying the video, KMKZ requested help from his followers to get the message to the right people. He also added a strong message to the music label, writing, “There’s so many stories of producers getting ripped off nowadays but man 300m streams and number 1 on billboard is crazy. I DEMAND A PLAQUE.”

This is not the first time T-Series and Sachet-Parampara have been embroiled in a plagiarism controversy related to Do Patti. Last year, another musician, Nilanjana Ghosh Dastidar, had accused the music giant of plagiarizing her husband Rajarshi Mitter’s track for the song “Maiyya” from the same film.
