Taapsee Pannu Open To Friendship With Kangana Ranaut Despite ‘Sasti Copy’ Remark

Actress Taapsee Pannu has addressed her long-standing rumoured feud with Kangana Ranaut, saying there was never any personal clash from her side.

The tension between the two actors dates back to a social media controversy when Kangana’s sister, Rangoli Chandel, called Taapsee a “sasti copy” (cheap copy) of Kangana. The comment sparked speculation about a rift, though neither actor directly confronted each other publicly.

‘Have I Ever Said Anything Against Her?’

Speaking on a podcast, Taapsee clarified that she does not recall ever fighting with Kangana. She emphasised that a feud requires participation from both sides — something she says never happened.

“Have I ever said even a single line against her?” Taapsee said, adding that she has consistently refrained from making negative remarks. She further stated that if being compared to a “brilliant actress” like Kangana makes her a copy, she does not see it as an insult.

Taapsee maintained that she has no bitterness and challenged critics to point out any statement where she directly attacked Kangana.

On the Nepotism Debate

Both actors are often described as outsiders in the film industry. When asked whether their alleged rivalry indirectly benefited star kids during the nepotism debate, Taapsee said she cannot say who gained from the situation but believes “someone somewhere” may have benefited.

She also suggested that there might have been people who preferred they remain divided, hinting that a collaboration between them could have created something impactful.

Open To Reconciliation

On the possibility of friendship, Taapsee was clear. She said she would “definitely” approach Kangana respectfully if they met.

“Technically, she is my senior. Why wouldn’t I go up to her and respectfully say hello?” she said, adding that while she cannot control Kangana’s response, she can guarantee her own behaviour.

Concluding her remarks, Taapsee said she holds nothing against Kangana, signalling openness to reconciliation rather than rivalry.
