Taapsee Pannu’s Husband Mathias Boe Shares Heartfelt New Year Message With Unseen Wedding Picture

January 1, 2025: As 2024 draws to a close, former badminton star Mathias Boe shared a touching moment on social media, marking a milestone year in his life.

The retired athlete posted an unseen black-and-white photograph of himself and his wife, actress Taapsee Pannu, from their marriage registry. In the heartfelt caption, Boe reflected on what had been a truly eventful year for him: “A girlfriend that became my wife, and a family that became bigger.” He wished his followers a Happy New Year, filled with the love of family and friends.

The couple, who tied the knot on March 23, 2024, in a private ceremony in Udaipur, chose to blend both Sikh and Christian traditions for their wedding. The celebration was a small, intimate affair, attended by close family and friends, with Taapsee and Mathias keeping much of the event private, as they have done with their relationship over the years.

Taapsee, known for her roles in films like Haseen Dillruba and Dunki, has been outspoken about her desire to maintain a boundary between her personal and professional lives. In a recent interview, she explained that her career achievements often get overshadowed when details about her personal life are made public, which is why she keeps her relationships and private moments out of the limelight. “I’ve worked really hard to be where I am. My name cannot be overtaken by anyone else who isn’t responsible for my success,” she said. Despite her desire for privacy, some videos from the wedding, including a joyful clip of her dancing in a red bridal suit, were leaked online. Taapsee expressed disappointment over this, emphasizing that she isn’t comfortable with the level of scrutiny her personal life receives.

In addition to reflecting on her marriage, Taapsee also spoke about the experience of attending the Paris Olympics, where Mathias Boe was coaching India’s top badminton duo, Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy. Describing it as a deeply emotional experience, Taapsee acknowledged that this might be Mathias’s last Olympics, and she wanted to be there to support both him and the athletes. Her connection to the event and the athletes seemed to deepen as she witnessed Mathias’s final chapter in the world of competitive badminton.

Having been in a relationship for over a decade, Taapsee and Mathias continue to keep their love story mostly private. Their decision to maintain this boundary, especially after their marriage, highlights their shared commitment to focusing on their individual careers and the bond they’ve built away from the public eye.
