April 10, 2025: In an exciting update for Tabu fans, the versatile actress has been roped in for an upcoming untitled project that will feature Vijay Sethupathi in the lead and be directed by Puri Jagannadh. The makers officially announced her involvement on Thursday through a post on their Instagram account, expressing their excitement about having Tabu onboard for the film.
The post reads, “She’s electric. She’s explosive. She’s the Tabu. Proudly welcoming the gem of Indian cinema, actress Tabu, on board for a role as dynamic as her presence in #PuriSethupathi.” While details about her role in the movie remain under wraps, her involvement has already generated significant buzz among fans.
This highly anticipated project will be produced by Puri Jagannadh and Charmme Kaur under the banner of Puri Connects. Fans are eagerly waiting to see what Tabu’s role in the film will entail, given her impeccable acting talent and choice of diverse roles in her career.
On the work front, Tabu is also set to appear in the horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan. This film marks a reunion of the celebrated director with Akshay Kumar, with whom he has previously collaborated on several successful projects, including Hera Pheri, Bhagam Bhag, Garam Masala, De Dana Dan, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Bhooth Bangla will also mark the reunion of Akshay Kumar and Tabu after 25 years, as the two were last seen together in Hera Pheri. Bhooth Bangla is set for a theatrical release on April 2, 2026.
