January 26, 2025: Varun Dhawan celebrated India's 76th Republic Day in an incredibly special way this year, while shooting for his upcoming film Border 2 in Babina Cantonment, Jhansi, Madhya Pradesh.
The actor shared a heartfelt post on Instagram, where he was seen holding the national flag while standing atop a tanker, dressed in a blue T-shirt and trousers. His message for his fans on this significant day was simple but powerful: "On this Republic Day, let's celebrate the strength of our unity."
In addition to his Republic Day celebration, Varun Dhawan had previously paid tribute to the Indian Army on January 15, the 77th Indian Army Day. He shared pictures from the sets of Border 2 where he spent the day interacting with soldiers, acknowledging the real heroes of the country. His caption read: "Honoring the real heroes of India this #ArmyDay. Proud to be with them."
As for Border 2, the sequel to the iconic 1997 film Border, it’s shaping up to be an intense portrayal of patriotism and sacrifice. With a stellar ensemble cast including Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty, the film is directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Nidhi Dutta, daughter of the original film's director, JP Dutta. Nidhi Dutta expressed her excitement about working with Varun and Diljit, noting their passion for the project and their enthusiasm for contributing to the legacy of the first film. She also highlighted how the mix of seasoned actors like Sunny Deol and the new faces adds a unique energy to the film.
