‘Tanvi The Great’: Anupam Kher’s Directorial Set For Cannes 2025 World Premiere
April 14, 2025: Veteran actor Anupam Kher is set to make waves on the international stage as his upcoming directorial venture, Tanvi The Great, will have its world premiere at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival 2025. The film will be screened at the Marché du Film, the industry segment of the festival, with Kher and the film’s cast and crew in attendance.
Kher took to Instagram to share the exciting news, stating, “It’s a film from our hearts, and I believe it will resonate just as deeply with audiences in Ahmedabad as it will in America.” He emphasized that the story was born from “deep passion and purpose” and that it explores themes with universal appeal.
Tanvi The Great features a powerful musical score by Oscar-winning composer M.M. Keeravani, whose contribution Kher praised as transformative. “Having Oscar-winner M.M. Keeravani bring this story to life with his musical genius has been a true blessing,” he said.
The film is a collaboration with the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), and after its Cannes premiere, it will embark on a global screening tour in major cities including London, New York, and Los Angeles—a move that underscores its global ambitions.
The recently released teaser has already stirred anticipation among audiences, and the Cannes premiere is expected to further cement Tanvi The Great as one of the most talked-about Indian films on the global circuit this year.
With this project, Anupam Kher not only marks a milestone in his directorial career but also aims to elevate Indian storytelling to new heights on the world stage.
