In a surprise reveal, the superstar teased her 12th studio album, with her official website posting a countdown that expired with a trailer for a special episode of Travis and Jason Kelce’s podcast.

Washington, D.C. – August 12, 2025: Pop superstar Taylor Swift has officially announced her next era. The singer revealed her 12th studio album, titled ‘The Life of a Showgirl,’ in a teaser for a special upcoming episode of Travis and Jason Kelce’s ‘New Heights’ podcast.

The announcement came after a countdown on Swift’s official website expired at 12:12 p.m. ET, leading fans to a new teaser clip on her Instagram. In the video, Swift is seen sitting next to her boyfriend, Travis, and tells Jason, “So I wanted to show you something.” She then pulls out a mint green briefcase with her initials, revealing, “This is my brand-new album, The Life of a Showgirl.” Both brothers erupted in excitement, with Travis shouting, “TS12!”

This new album marks Swift’s first new project since the release of ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ in April 2024. That album has already gone six-times-platinum and was nominated for Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards.

The post’s caption added to the mystery, reading, “Posted at 12:12 on the 12th. Tay’s 12th album is called………… pre pre-order now at TaylorSwift.com.” Swift did not share the album’s release date, and the cover art was blurred in the clip, leaving fans eager for more details.

The superstar has kept a relatively low profile in 2025 after wrapping her record-breaking ‘Eras Tour’ at the end of last year. However, she made headlines in May when she announced that she had finally secured the rights to her early master recordings, ending a contentious dispute with music executive Scooter Braun. Swift has since turned that drama into a lucrative new chapter with her highly successful “Taylor’s Versions” of her original albums, which in many cases have outsold the originals.

Like all of Swift’s releases, ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ is expected to be a chart monster, as she remains one of the few artists in the industry who can reliably sell over a million units in a single week.
