May 23, 2025: Taylor Swift can finally breathe easy after Justin Baldoni withdrew the subpoena that named her in his ongoing legal battle against Blake Lively. The subpoena had threatened to drag the pop superstar into a high-profile court case stemming from allegations between Baldoni and Lively.

The dispute began after Blake Lively sued Justin Baldoni, accusing him of sexual harassment and creating a toxic work environment during the making of the film It Ends With Us. Baldoni countered by filing a defamation lawsuit against Lively and her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, alleging a smear campaign. As part of this legal back-and-forth, Baldoni’s team issued a subpoena to Taylor Swift, who is known to be a close friend of Blake Lively.

However, in a surprising turn of events, the subpoena was dropped. Blake Lively’s legal team confirmed the development and hailed it as a victory, emphasizing that Swift’s involvement was being unfairly exploited. “The Baldoni and Wayfarer team have tried to put Taylor Swift, a woman who has been an inspiration for tens of millions across the globe, at the centre of this case since day one,” a spokesperson said. “Faced with having to justify themselves in federal court, they folded.”

Taylor Swift had earlier issued a statement clarifying her complete lack of involvement with the film It Ends With Us. According to her representative, Swift “never set foot on the set,” was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, and only saw

the film weeks after its release while she was touring globally.

The much-anticipated trial, which will cover lawsuits from both sides, is scheduled for March 2026. For now, Taylor Swift remains outside the courtroom drama, free from any legal entanglement in the dispute between her friends and colleagues.

This development marks a significant moment in the ongoing saga, with fans and industry insiders closely watching the legal battle unfold.
