Taylor Swift Officially Subpoenaed as Witness in Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni Legal Battle Over ‘It Ends With Us’
May 10, 2025: Los Angeles — Singer Taylor Swift has been officially subpoenaed in the legal clash between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, sources said. The subpoena, issued by Baldoni’s legal team on Friday, compels the pop icon to testify in the ongoing case over the film It Ends With Us, which is scheduled for trial in March 2026.
Swift’s spokesperson condemned the subpoena as “tabloid clickbait,” asserting the Grammy-winning artist had no creative role in the project. “Taylor Swift never set foot on the set, was not involved in casting, scoring, or editing, and only saw the film weeks after its release while touring globally,” the statement read.
The spokesperson confirmed Swift’s only connection to the film was the licensing of her track “My Tears Ricochet”, along with 19 other contributing artists.

“This document subpoena is designed to use Taylor Swift’s name to draw public interest by creating tabloid clickbait instead of focusing on the facts of the case,” the representative added.
The legal drama began when Blake Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni in December 2024, citing emotional distress and lost wages. Baldoni retaliated in January 2025 with a $400 million defamation countersuit, claiming Lively weaponized her friendship with powerful celebrities — including Swift and her husband Ryan Reynolds — to undermine his control over the film.

According to legal filings, Baldoni described Lively’s inner circle, including Swift, as her “creative barometers” and “dragons” that he had to contend with. While Swift was never explicitly named, she was referenced in text exchanges praising Lively’s edits to the film.
“Makes it so much more fun and interesting,” Baldoni reportedly wrote. “(And I would have felt that way without Ryan or Taylor).”
Sources claim Swift felt “used” by Lively amid the feud but has since received a “genuine and heartfelt apology” from the actress. The two friends are reportedly rebuilding their relationship, with no lingering hard feelings.
Meanwhile, other high-profile friends of the couple — including Hugh Jackman, who co-starred with Reynolds in Deadpool & Wolverine — may also be drawn into the legal proceedings, according to sources.
