But as the night unfolded, Billie Eilish swept those top five categories. Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars won Collaboration of the Year for “Die With A Smile,” despite Swift’s massive following and past dominance.
Adding to the buzz was the absence of any major announcement from Swift. Fans had been sure she was dropping hints about a big reveal, like a new album or tour update. The clues? Her website had cryptic listings for Apparel, Music, Accessories, and Sale – spelling out AMAS. Repeated mentions of the number 12 seemed to point to her rumored twelfth studio album, and the number 26 was thought to link to the awards show date.
