May 11, 2025 : Pop icon Taylor Swift has been drawn into the legal controversy surrounding the upcoming film It Ends With Us, as actor-director Justin Baldoni‘s legal team has issued a subpoena involving behind-the-scenes script disagreements.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the subpoena stems from a 2023 meeting at Blake Lively’s New York home, where Baldoni, Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and Swift allegedly discussed changes to a rooftop scene in the film. Baldoni’s lawsuit claims he felt pressured to accept the scene edits after Lively brought in Reynolds and Swift to support her version.

The lawsuit includes a text from Lively in which she referred to Reynolds and Swift as her “dragons,” a nod to Game of Thrones, writing:

“If you ever get around to watching Game of Thrones, you’ll appreciate that I’m Khaleesi, and like her, I happen to have a few dragons… Because my dragons also protect those I fight for.”

Although Baldoni appeared to approve the changes, texting Lively that her edits made the scene “so much more fun and interesting,” the interaction has now become a point of contention in the dueling lawsuits related to creative control.

A spokesperson for Swift dismissed the subpoena as a publicity stunt, stating:

“Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie; she was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film.”

The spokesperson emphasized that Swift’s only connection to the film was the licensed use of her song “My Tears Ricochet” and that she was on her global Eras Tour throughout 2023 and 2024.

Neither Blake Lively nor Justin Baldoni have issued public responses to the latest developments.
