‘Test’ Trailer Unveiled: R. Madhavan, Nayanthara & Siddharth Shine in a Gripping Tale of Dreams, Sacrifices and Second Chances

Netflix’s Tamil original blends cricket, science and emotional turmoil in S. Sashikanth’s directorial debut starring a powerhouse cast. Premieres April 4

Chennai, March 25:
The much-anticipated trailer of Test, Netflix’s upcoming Tamil original film, was unveiled on Tuesday, featuring a powerhouse trio — R. Madhavan, Nayanthara, and Siddharth — in a compelling drama that goes beyond cricket and dives into human ambition, sacrifice, and relationships.

Directed by debutant S. Sashikanth, Test explores how the lives of a cricketer, a scientist, and a school teacher collide under extraordinary circumstances, forcing each of them to confront their deepest dilemmas.

“Test as my first film has been an incredible journey — one that tested my own storytelling limits,” said Sashikanth in a press note. “It’s not just about cricket; it’s about the human spirit and the choices that define our lives.”

Story at a Glance:

The trailer introduces Siddharth as Arjun, a cricketer at a career crossroads; R. Madhavan as Saravanan, a scientist fighting to keep his project afloat; and Nayanthara as Kumudha, Saravanan’s wife, caught between love and the weight of life-changing decisions.

The official synopsis teases:

“Three lives. Three battles. One ultimate TEST.” The story unfolds as each character is tested by ambition, duty, and personal sacrifice. Also starring Meera Jasmine as Padma, Arjun’s wife, the film captures complex family dynamics and high-stakes drama.

Cast Speaks:

R. Madhavan shared,

“Just as my character is committed to scientific breakthroughs, I strive for authenticity in every role. Test captures the relentless pursuit of excellence and the legacy we strive to protect.”

Nayanthara added,

“Some stories stay with you — Test is one of them. Kumudha is a woman of quiet strength, love, and sacrifice. Portraying her was challenging and emotionally fulfilling.”

Netflix’s Big Tamil Bet:

Monika Shergill, Vice-President, Content, Netflix India, praised the film’s narrative scope and ensemble cast:

Test is a remarkable debut by S. Sashikanth and an example of Tamil cinema’s powerful storytelling. With Madhavan, Nayanthara, Siddharth, and Meera Jasmine coming together for the first time, it’s a cinematic moment we’re excited to bring to audiences in India and around the world.”

Test premieres April 4 on Netflix.
