February 19, 2025: Thandel Box Office Collection Day 11: Naga Chaitanya-Sai Pallavi’s Film Faces Sharp Drop

Thandel, starring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, has seen a significant dip in its box office earnings on its second Monday. The romantic action thriller, which opened to a strong first-week performance, has now slowed down considerably.

Thandel’s Box Office Performance So Far

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Thandel has earned ₹58.05 crore in India (net ₹57.93 crore) and ₹77.85 crore globally, with overseas collections contributing ₹11 crore. The film made just ₹1 crore on Monday (Day 11), a sharp decline from Sunday’s ₹3.1 crore.

A Promising Start but a Slowing Trend

Thandel had a remarkable start at the box office, debuting with ₹11.5 crore on its opening day—surpassing Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi’s previous collaboration, Love Story, which opened at ₹10.50 crore. Despite its initial momentum, the film has struggled to maintain steady earnings into its second week.

The Story Behind Thandel

Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, Thandel follows the journey of a fisherman who inadvertently drifts into Pakistani waters. Produced by Bunny Vasu under the Geetha Arts banner, the film marks the second collaboration between Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi after their blockbuster Love Story.

What’s Next for Thandel?

While Thandel has faced a box office slowdown, it remains one of Naga Chaitanya’s more successful films in recent years, especially following the underwhelming performance of Custody, which had a lifetime gross of just ₹20 crore. With non-theatrical rights in play, the final commercial verdict on Thandel will depend on its performance in streaming and satellite markets.

Despite the drop in collections, the film continues its theatrical run, hoping for a boost in the coming days.
