Tollywood Romantic Drama Sees Resurgence, Grosses ₹83 Crore Worldwide

February 24, 2025: Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi’s Thandel continues its theatrical run, witnessing a 13.73% growth on Sunday after a five-day slump. The Chandoo Mondeti directorial recorded an overall 22.78% occupancy in Telugu-language screenings on February 23, marking a steady comeback at the box office.

Box Office Collection Breakdown

The film entered its third week on Friday, after accumulating ₹49.4 crore in its first week, but saw a sharp 77.13% drop in week 2, collecting ₹11.3 crore. However, Sunday’s 1.16 crore collection brought back some momentum.

Thandel OTT Release: When and Where to Watch?

As per industry reports, Netflix has acquired the OTT rights for ₹40 crore, and the film is expected to premiere online between March 7 and March 14. However, an official announcement regarding the digital release date is yet to be made.

About ‘Thandel’

Based on a real-life story, Thandel narrates the gripping tale of a fisherman from Srikakulam who is captured by Pakistani forces after inadvertently crossing maritime borders.

The film boasts a strong ensemble cast, including Prakash Belawadi, Divya Pillai, Rao Ramesh, Karunakaran, Babloo Prithiveeraj, Kalpa Latha, Kalyani Natarajan, and Parvateesam.
