
Thandel Box Office Day 4: Produced at a Modest Budget of 80 Crore, Film Surpasses ₹41 Crore
February 11, 2025: Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi’s latest film, Thandel, is proving to be a box office success, collecting ₹41.10 crore by the end of its first Monday. The Chandoo Mondeti directorial is inspired by the true story of fishermen from Srikakulam who accidentally drifted into Pakistani waters and were imprisoned.
Despite receiving mixed reviews for its story and pacing, the lead pair’s chemistry and Devi Sri Prasad’s music have been widely praised, contributing to the film’s impressive box office run.

The film opened to ₹21.27 crore globally, marking the biggest opener in Naga Chaitanya’s career. By the end of its first weekend, the worldwide gross crossed ₹50 crore.
Thandel narrates the real-life ordeal of Indian fishermen who unintentionally crossed into Pakistani waters and faced imprisonment.
With its current momentum, Thandel is expected to cross ₹60 crore soon. The film’s strong word-of-mouth and steady footfall suggest it might continue performing well in the coming weeks.
