The highly acclaimed Telugu survival drama Thandel, starring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, is set to make its digital debut after a successful theatrical run. Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, the film hit cinemas on February 7, 2025, and was praised for its emotional depth and gripping narrative. Now, audiences can experience this true-story-inspired drama from the comfort of their homes.
Thandel will be available for streaming on Netflix from March 14, 2025. However, the official confirmation from the makers is still awaited.

Inspired by real-life events, Thandel follows the journey of Raju (Naga Chaitanya), a fisherman from Srikakulam who falls in love with Bujji (Sai Pallavi). Despite Bujji’s concerns about the dangers of fishing, Raju embarks on a trip, only to be caught in a violent storm that pushes his boat into Pakistani waters. Captured by Pakistani officials, Raju must fight for survival and find his way back home.
The movie is based on the harrowing experience of fishermen from Srikakulam, who were taken captive by Pakistani Coast Guards in 2000. Among them was 21-year-old Chodipilli Musalayya, who was detained for over a year before finally being released in February 2002.
