In a stunning box office triumph, The Conjuring: Last Rites has earned a massive Rs 50 crore in its opening weekend, leaving major Bollywood releases behind. The film has become one of the highest-grossing Hollywood horror films in India, signaling a major win for the genre.

September 8, 2025: In India, horror movies from Hollywood are becoming the most popular. The Conjuring: Last Rites was the overwhelming winner of the weekend. It beat off huge Bollywood hits to become one of the highest-grossing horror movies in the country.

The movie made an incredible ₹50.50 crore in just three days after it came out on September 5. This was a lot more than what its competitors had. The movie’s spectacular opening weekend defeated Tiger Shroff’s action blockbuster Baaghi 4, which made ₹31.25 crore, and Vivek Agnihotri’s political thriller The Bengal Files, which only made ₹6.65 crore in the same time period.

The Conjuring: Last Rites went well, which shows that the franchise is still popular and that Indian fans are changing what they want. In terms of lifetime revenues, the movie is now the third highest-grossing horror movie in India, behind The Conjuring 2 (₹61.80 crore) and Final Destination: Bloodlines (₹62.12 crore).

Experts think that the movie is expected to beat the records of the two highest-grossing horror movies in India because it had a terrific opening and people spoke about it a lot. It could be the first horror movie in India to make more than ₹100 crore.
