On Day 10 (Sunday), The Diplomat earned ₹2.75 crore, a marginal increase over Saturday’s ₹2.5 crore. Its worldwide gross stands at ₹35 crore, including ₹4.40 crore from overseas and ₹30.6 crore India gross.
Compared to its Hollywood competitor Snow White, which opened to ₹65 lakh on Day 1, The Diplomat has emerged as the stronger theatrical draw in India. With modest competition and growing word of mouth, the film continues to maintain its momentum.
Directed by Shivam Nair, The Diplomat is based on the real-life story of Indian national Uzma Ahmad, portrayed by Sadia Khateeb. The narrative follows a gripping mission to rescue her from a dangerous situation in Pakistan, with John Abraham playing the titular diplomat.
