February 1, 2025: Netflix has dropped an exciting new clip for The Electric State, an upcoming sci-fi action film directed by the Russo Brothers, Joe and Anthony Russo. Set to premiere globally on March 14, the film is based on Simon Stalenhag’s graphic novel and stars Millie Bobby Brown (known for Stranger Things) and Chris Pratt in an epic journey through a robot-invaded alternate version of the 1990s.

The story follows an orphaned teenager, played by Brown, who embarks on a perilous journey across the American West in search of her lost brother. Along the way, she is accompanied by a cartoon-inspired robot, a smuggler, and his sidekick, as they navigate a dystopian world devastated by a robot uprising.

The star-studded cast includes Ke Huy Quan, Jason Alexander, Woody Norman, Giancarlo Esposito, Stanley Tucci, and more, while the voice cast features Woody Harrelson, Anthony Mackie, Brian Cox, Jenny Slate, Hank Azaria, Colman Domingo, and Alan Tudyk.

Produced by the Russo Brothers through their AGBO production company, the film explores the impact of technology on humanity, blending both its positive and negative aspects. As Joe Russo explained, the movie will explore how technology subtly alters psychology, echoing Stalenhag’s vision of a “dark yet hopeful” future.
