July 6, 2025: David Corenswet is stepping into the cape with his own take on the Man of Steel — and he’s doing it solo. At the London red carpet premiere of James Gunn’s highly anticipated Superman, Corenswet revealed that while he reached out to former Supermen Henry Cavill (Man of Steel) and Tyler Hoechlin (Superman & Lois) for advice, both chose not to influence his approach.

“Both of them, interestingly, sort of said in their own words, ‘I’m not gonna try and give you any tips,’” Corenswet said in an interview with Heart. “I think that’s a very Superman thing — not about dictating to others. They really just conveyed encouragement and told me to have fun with it.”

The 2025 reboot, set to release on July 11, introduces a fresh cast for the DC Universe. Joining Corenswet are Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, and Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl.
Meanwhile, Superman director James Gunn is already teasing what’s next — a new Wonder Woman project currently in the works. One name high on his list for the role? Hit Man star Adria Arjona.
“She’d be a great Wonder Woman,” Gunn said, responding to recent fan buzz after he followed her on Instagram. Though he stopped short of confirming anything, speculation is soaring.
