Prabhas’ horror comedy crashes in second week, Sacnilk calls Telugu version a flop
January 24, 2026: Prabhas’ much-anticipated horror comedy The Raja Saab has witnessed a steep decline at the box office, losing momentum sharply in its second week. Despite a strong worldwide opening of ₹100 crore on Day 1, the film suffered from negative word-of-mouth, leading to a drop of over 90 per cent in collections. On Day 15, the film earned just ₹22 lakh in India net collections, according to early estimates by Sacnilk.
The Telugu version has now been officially labelled a flop by Sacnilk, with collections continuing to fall. After earning around ₹61 lakh on Day 14, the film slipped further the next day, taking its total India net collection to ₹143.03 crore. Week 2 proved particularly weak, contributing only about ₹12.56 crore, a sharp contrast to its opening week. Worldwide, The Raja Saab has managed a gross of around ₹204 crore so far.
Occupancy figures reflect the poor performance, especially outside the core Telugu market. On Day 15, overall occupancy in Telugu states stood at 18.01 per cent, generating about ₹24 lakh, while the Hindi version recorded a dismal 1.47 per cent occupancy. Directed by Maruthi and released on January 9, the People Media Factory production starred Prabhas alongside Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal and Riddhi Kumar. Despite high expectations for a light-hearted horror entertainer, the film has failed to strike a chord with audiences.
