“I was working on ‘Darr,’ but later opted out. Even now, I feel that was the right decision because the tone Yash Chopra wanted suited Shah Rukh better. If I had done it, the film would have turned out completely different.”

Aamir also recalled how he was approached for Bajrangi Bhaijaan but recommended Salman Khan for the role instead.

“I heard the script and liked it, but I felt it was more suited for Salman. I advised the writer to approach him, but he initially took it to Kabir Khan, who then brought it to Salman. I knew Salman would be perfect for it.”

Aamir also confirmed that Rajkumar Hirani had initially wanted him to be part of Munna Bhai MBBS, but things evolved into a sequel format, leading to Sanjay Dutt taking over the role.

About ‘Darr’ and ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’

  • Darr (1993) was a turning point for Shah Rukh Khan, as he played a chilling anti-hero obsessed with Juhi Chawla’s Kiran.
  • Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) was a blockbuster success, featuring Salman Khan as a kind-hearted man helping a lost Pakistani girl reunite with her family.

Despite missing out on these films, Aamir Khan insists he has no regrets—proving once again that every role finds its perfect star.
